Soup recipes
Tomato Soup
Place tomato juice into a blender. Add salt and SlimSafe sachet powder while blender is on low speed. Pour mixture into a soup bowl and add hot water until soup is desired consistency.
Vegetable soup
4 small radishes thinly sliced ½ cup zucchini 90 ml tomato juice ½ medium tomato chopped 1 chicken or beef stock cube ½ stalk celery chopped ¼ green pepper chopped 240 mls cold water 1 tbsp chopped onion 2 SlimSafe sachets 1 tbsp chopped parsley Combine the first nine ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer for approximately fifteen minutes. Place cold water and SlimSafe powder in a blender and blend at low speed. Add SlimSafe mixture to the hot soup. Stir thoroughly and serve.
Bean and Broccoli Chowder
½ cup broccoli diced ½ tsp paprika ½ cup green beans diced 500mls water 1 chicken stock cube 2 SlimSafe sachets Lite or Celtic salt and pepper to taste Simmer first four ingredients in 250mils of water for approximately 10 minutes. Place 250 mls of cold water in a blender and add SlimSafe powder while the blender is on low. Add the SlimSafe mixture to the hot soup. Simmer for 1 more minute, stirring frequently. Add paprika just before serving.
Creamy Mushroom soup
120 ml cold water 1 tsp butter 120 ml hot water 1 tsp shredded cheddar cheese ½ cup mushrooms sliced or chopped 1 SlimSafe sachet 1 egg yolk Lite or Celtic salt and pepper to taste 1 chicken stock cube Sauté mushrooms in butter. Dissolve chicken stock cube in 120 ml hot water. Add to mushrooms and simmer. Place 120 ml cold water in a blender. Add egg yolk and SlimSafe sachet while blender is on low speed. Add SlimSafe mixture to soup. Simmer briefly and add cheese just before serving.
Creamy Onion Soup
2 medium onions chopped 120 ml water 1 egg yolk Lite or Celtic salt to taste 1 SlimSafe sachet Sauté onions in 1 tsp butter, add water cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. Place 120 ml cold water in blender, add salt, egg yolk and SlimSafe powder and blend well on low speed. Add this to onion mix, simmer briefly and serve with 1 tsp grated cheese.
Gazpacho Soup
¼ green pepper chopped ½ medium tomato chopped 1 tbsp chopped onion ½ cup zucchini chopped 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1/8 medium cucumber chopped 2-3 drops Tabasco sauce (optional) 180 ml tomato juice Lite or Celtic Salt and pepper to taste Dash of Worcestershire sauce Dash of garlic powder 2 SlimSafe sachets 180ml cold water Place first 12 ingredients in blender and puree until smooth. Add SlimSafe powder while blender is on medium. Continue blending until mixed to your personal satisfaction. Pour all ingredients into saucepan and heat rapidly. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious spicy flavour.
Cream of Chicken Soup
180mls cold water 1 chicken stock cube 90mls hot water ½ stalk diced celery 30gms diced cooked chicken ½ tsp butter 30 gms grated cheddar cheese 1 SlimSafe sachet 1 tbsp chopped spring onion Sauté all vegetables in butter for approximately three minutes. While vegetables are cooking, place cold water in blender and add SlimSafe powder while blending is on low speed. Set aside. Dissolve stock cube in hot water and pour into pan with vegetables. Add chicken and cheese. Pour in SlimSafe mixture. Cover and simmer for approximately five minutes or until desired consistence. More water may be added for thinner soup.
Hearty Beef Soup
60gms Lean beef mince cooked and drained 180mls cold water 90 mls tomato juice 1/8 cup chopped onions ½ stalk of celery chopped ½ cup chopped mushrooms ½ tsp butter Beef stock cube 1/8 tsp Lite salt or Celtic salt ½ cup chopped broccoli 1 tbsp chopped green pepper ½ tomato chopped 180ml hot water
Place cold water, salt and three tablespoons of tomato juice in a blender (reserve remainder of tomato juice for broth). Set aside. Melt butter in a small skillet and sauté all vegetables for two minutes. Dissolve stock cube in hot water and add to vegetables. Add remainder of tomato juice and drained hamburger mince. Cover and simmer for approx. five minutes, or until vegetables are soft. Stir occasionally. Makes two servings.
